The title of this post may have two different meaning.

Let me read it again " I didn’t think it could happen to me."

It could be something good or extraordinary events happening to someone. Perhaps that someone achieved great wealth, or an opportunity to advance further in life, something that changes his or her life forever.

First meaning is about some unbelievable event takes place in a person’s life – Some positive outcome.

I would like to talk about the opposite. I would like to relate what I have read from a newspaper article yesterday to a real life event that has happened in my life. 

These scams usually via the internet, are targeting the internet users. Nowadays, the younger generations are the victims, mainly because of their peers and due to inexperience about such matters. 

Making money through internet investment and earn extra commission by bringing others to join the investment.

All of us are human-being with feelings. Greed is one of them and it is in everyone of us, including me.

Not too long ago, many people are involved or absorbed into this kind of internet investment scam and at that point of time, many MLM companies sales drops tremendously.

The reason is, almost all MLMers are involved. Not only these companies offer good ROI (Return Of Investment) but they also have the sponsoring mechanism in their program with interesting commissions in bringing more investors to join the program. (scam). 

Nobody to be blamed. Just be aware that money just doesn’t come that easy and neither does the trust from friends.

Ask – and you will be given

Seek – and you shall find

Knock – and it will be opened

These simple 3 words are very important and it only works, only if we apply it in our daily life.

Last Sunday, my dad and I had a discussion with another experienced MLM person.

This is our 3rd meeting with him to talk about his new venture. The earlier ones, we had about 10 people. But this time, its only the three of us.

He is a COO (Chief Operation Officer) of ClicknRing Sdn Bhd from Cyberjaya. ClicknRing obtained the MSC (Multimedia Super Corridor) status and The Malaysian Book of Records.

He showed demonstration to us. We had lunch and continue to talk further.

The MLM product for this company is on Services – Telecommunication.

Other matters discussed was on the Marketing Plan with my dad.

That’s all at the moment, I will keep you posted as I need to disgust a little bit more on this new product or should I say, technology.

During end of 2007 till early 2008, my dad and I ventured into starting our own MLM business.

We are not MLM distributors, but we are running the MLM company.

This is the Marketing Office where distributors purchase their products and do presentations to their prospects. We also have the members area and a couple of meeting rooms. We took the whole floors. 

This is the Ground Floor and I was doing the arrangements and cleaning for the marketing office at night after came back from my work. This is the receptionist counter, where we store some of the products for distributors.

This is the Factory where we manufacture the products. There were no electricity and water supply and we have install all that. They brought in the empty bottles and all the equipments necessary. We had discussion on the ingredients and bottle designs, besides the marketing plan, which my dad did.

I am sure everyone of us do some saving by the end of the month. Some may put 10% – 20% of their income aside for short term and long term needs.

But is that all we do? Just open a separate account in another bank and put them there.

Congratulations if you have done that! 

What are you going to do about it, just leave it idle?

My dad always said : If the bank gives you a return of 3% per annum, can you figure out something else that could give you more ?

How about investing in a business – Network Marketing Business that gives you a very much higher interest in return.

Introducing another Amway product, that I found in my dad’s new office while I was cleaning up some of his stuff. Its Magic Foam. I guess he is using it for the carpet. He is setting up a new office for MLM training.

When we became an Independent Distributor of a Multi-Level Marketing company, we actually involved in a Partnership Business.

This is how it goes, The MLM company will take care of all the big infrastructure expenses, such as manufacturing, packaging, designing, quality control, warehousing, research & development, administration, accounting, employee, management, public relations, order processing, shipping, payroll and many more. 

In other words, the MLM company will deal with all the headaches and major expenses.

The independent distributors will be doing all the marketing, moving the products, earns rebates and commissions on the products they use, consume and sell plus commissions on sales generated by other independent distributors they bring into the business.

Independent Distributors will have the incentives & the freedom to build huge organisation because there is no limit or capping on their income or restrictions on their territories.

As an Independent Distributor, we build our business and let the company do what they do best. Where could we find a business like this?

I was in executive sales with a Fortune 500 company, and my first reaction to MLM was negative. I was naive enough to think that I would make my money in the work world.

In the work world I learned that my destiny was not in my control , but was controlled by the company for which I worked. I had a group of accounts, but they wouldn’t let me expand my territory. Plus, they were not coming out with any new products.

I began thinking. I asked myself if I was making what I was worth. I wondered, I had had so much fun working for myself when I was a kid, and then had grown up to be an employee of someone else!  So, I decided to become the president of my own lemonade stand again.

MLM is word-of-mouth advertising. With most business investments being so high, MLM is reasonable way to get into business for yourself.
